Group Piano

Discover the building blocks of song writing. This fun, interactive class introduces students to the fundamentals of piano, music reading, music theory, chord progressions, and melody writing in a supporti

ve group setting. Students will learn how to read music, understand how chords work together, create their own chord progressions, and compose original melodies while developing a strong foundation in musicianship.

No previous piano or music experience is required. Keyboards are provided, making this the perfect class for aspiring songwriters, singers, instrumentalists, or anyone who wants to unlock their creativity through music.

Class Dates: Mondays, August 24th-November 30th (no classes September 7th, October 19th and November 23rd)

Time: 6:30-7:30pm

Ages: 10-16

Tuition: $360 

Minimum of 4 students required


Group Guitar

Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to build a strong musical foundation, this engaging group class is the perfect place to start! Students will learn the fundamentals of guitar, including proper technique, tuning, chord shapes, strumming patterns, rhythm, music reading, and basic music theory. Through fun, hands-on instruction, students will explore the chords and rhythms used in today’s most popular songs, giving them the skills to accompany themselves, play with others, and perform music they love. As their confidence grows, they’ll begin playing familiar songs while developing strong musicianship in a fun and collaborative environment.

No previous guitar experience is necessary. Students should bring their own acoustic guitar.

Group Songwriting

Have you ever wanted to write your own songs? This fun and supportive weekly class is designed for beginners ages 10–16 who are ready to explore their creativity and express themselves through music. Students will learn the fundamentals of songwriting, including lyric writing, melody creation, song structure, and basic music theory. Through guided activities and collaborative exercises, they’ll experiment with different styles and techniques while developing their own unique voice.

Students will have the opportunity to share ideas, receive feedback, and even perform their original songs in a positive and encouraging environment. No prior songwriting experience is necessary—just bring your imagination and a willingness to try something new! This class consists of group classes and creative writing hours which are explained under the Class Dates below.

Please note: Students must be participating in either NPAC’s Group Piano, NPAC’s Group Guitar or private instrument lessons at NPAC to enroll in this class.

Session Dates: Saturdays, September 12th-November 21st (no classes on October 24th and 31st)

  • Group Class Dates: September 12th, September 26th, October 3rd, October 17th, November 7th and November 21st
  • Creative Writing Hour: September 19th, October 10th, November 14th: Students are invited to come at the same class time to use the studio’s instruments, computer, and other songwriting resources. The instructor will be available to provide guidance and feedback while students work on their own music.
