A Cappellas (Sessions A & B):

By Invitation Only *unless received prior approval*

A Cappellas’  will focus on strengthening creativity and musicality, with students harmonizing in a variety of musical styles without accompaniment! This singing group will cover pop, classical, and alternative music in a fun, engaging environment with other enthusiastic singers. Students will learn how to hold parts, blend, & balance in an A Cappella group. A desire to strengthen vocal technique through breathing and vocal exercises is emphasized, and originality is encouraged!

  • Dates:             Mondays, August 21st – November 13 (No class November 6th)
  • Showcase:     TBA
  • Time:              6:30-7:30PM
  • Cost:               $125/ Session
  • Materials:       Students should bring to each session: a pencil, a 3-ring binder for music, and a re-fillable water bottle.

 

Musical Theater Choreography (Sessions A & B):

Ages 8 through 12 *unless received prior approval*

When participating in conventions, workshops, and, productions especially auditions; performers are expected to be able to learn, remember, and impressively execute choreography in a very short amount of time. It’s like “study-skills” for performers with a strong tap & jazz influence. This is an extremely valuable class to offer our students as they continue to participate in auditions & productions. The goal in teaching this class is to utilize tap & jazz techniques to exercise, enhance, and accelerate each student’s ability to learn, comprehend, and exceptionally perform choreography in a short period of time. This class will progress every semester (6 weeks) so students will have the opportunity to advance with each semester. (This class is a requirement for All Leads in NPAC’s Beauty & the Beast JR ages 8-12)

  • Dates:             Tuesday, August 22 – November 14 (No Class October 31st)
  • Time:              5:30-6:15PM
  • Cost:               $125/ Session
  • Minimum:      5 Students
  • Attire:             Solid Color Leotard & Tights, Jazz shoes & Tap shoes, Absolutely no street clothes or long pants that cover the dancers feet, Hair in a bun or ponytail completely pulled off the face

Intermediate Tap (Sessions A & B):

Ages 7 through 12 *unless received prior approval*

Intermediate Tap is designed to help students develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Class focuses on rhythms and intricate footwork, creating a percussion instrument out of the dancer’s feet. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. This class will progress every session (6 weeks) so students will have the opportunity to advance with each semester.

  • Dates:             A: Tuesday, August 22 – November 14 (No Class October 31st)
  • Time:              6:30-7:15PM
  • Cost:               $125/ Session
  • Minimum:        5 Students

Music Theory:

Ages 12 and Up *unless received prior approval*

Learn the basics of music theory in a class geared towards singers. This class will begin with basics required to read sheet music, including rhythmic notation as well as melodic dictation. Students will learn definitions of musical symbols, harmonizing essentials, and figured bass part writing. This class is meant for beginning students and will move at a fast pace. Students will leave with the ability to read and fully understand sheet music, as well as aurally identify melodic material. This class will progress every session (6 weeks) so students will have the opportunity to advance with each semester.

  • Dates:              A: Wednesday, August 23 – November 15 (No class on November 8th)
  • Time:               4:30-5:15PM
  • Cost:                $135/ Session
  • Minimum:       5 Students

JuniorStage Broadway Studio (Sessions A & B):

Ages 8 through 12 *unless received prior approval*

Specifically tailored for performers’ ages 8 through 12 who participate in musical theatre! Have a blast rehearsing original musicals while perfecting your musical theatre skills! Each actor will learn how to audition, create a character, work memorization, and put on a show. Work on stage presence and performance while perfecting characterization! This studio class will allow the student to learn all aspects of musical theatre while focusing on the fundamentals of performing!

  •  Dates:            A: Thursday, August 24 – November 16 (No class on November 9th)
  • Time:              6:00-6:45PM
    • Cost:               $135/ Session
  • Minimum:      5 Students
  • Materials:       Students should bring to each session: a pencil, a 3-ring binder for music, and a re-fillable water bottle.
